Lyrics of Sharamaa Ke Ye Kyu Sab Pardaanashin -

sharma ke ye kyun sab pardanashi, sharma ke ye kyun sab pardanashi
aanchal ko savara karta hai
sharma ke ye kyun sab pardanashi aanchal ko savara karta hai
sharma ke ye kyun sab pardanashi aanchal ko savara karta hai
sharma ke ye kyun sab pardanashi aanchal ko savara karta hai
aanchal ko savara karta hai, aanchal ko savara karta hai
kuchh aise nazarwale bhi hai jo chup chup ke nazara karte hai
kuchh aise nazarwale bhi hai jo chup chup ke nazara karte hai
sharma ke ye kyun sab pardanashi aanchal ko savara karta hai

betab nigaaho se kah do jalawo se ulajhna thik nahi
jalawo se ulajhna thik nahi, jalawo se ulajhna thik nahi
betab nigaaho se kah do jalawo se ulajhna thik nahi
jalawo se ulajhna thik nahi
aana sambhal ke pardanashino ke saamne
jhukti hai zindagi bhi hasino ke saamne
mahfil me husn ki jo gaya shaan se gaya
jisne nazar milayi wahi jaan se gaya
betab nigaaho se kah do jalawo se ulajhna thik nahi
jalawo se ulajhna thik nahi, jalawo se ulajhna thik nahi

duniya me na ho gar dilwale, duniya me na ho gar dilwale
duniya me na ho gar dilwale
nazare jo na hoti to nazaara bhi na hota
duniya me hasino ka guzaara bhi na hota
nazaro ne sikhayi inhe shokhi bhi haya bhi
nazaro ne banaya hai inhe khud bhi khuda bhi
duniya me na ho gar dilwale, duniya me na ho gar dilwale
ye husn ki izzat rakhne ko har zulm gawara karte hai
ye husn ki izzat rakhne ko har zulm gawara karte hai
kuchh aise nazarwale bhi hai jo chup chup ke nazara karte hai

agar ye khush ho to ulfat ka ahtaram kare
agar zara bhi khafa ho to katl-e-aam kare
ye shokh nazar ke khanzar bhi seene me utara karte hai
ye shokh nazar ke khanzar bhi seene me utara karte hai
sharma ke ye kyun sab pardanashi aanchal ko savara karta hai

lyrics of song Sharamaa Ke Ye Kyu Sab Pardaanashin

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Sharamaa Ke Ye Kyu Sab Pardaanashin
Why do the veiled ones blush,
Why do they shy, those hidden faces?
Adjusting their veils,
Why, oh why, this shy grace?
Adjusting their veils with practiced hand,
There are those who gaze, unseen, across the land.
Some who steal glances, hidden from view,
While the veiled ones blush anew.

Tell the restless eyes, their longing untold,
That to tangle with beauty is a story of old.
To tangle with beauty is a reckless game,
Before the veiled ones, life bows in shame.
In beauty's court, who enters with pride,
Loses their soul, where truth cannot hide.
The eyes that meet, meet their fateful end,
Tell the restless eyes, before they descend.
These lovers of charm, with their tempting art,
Can kill without death, and tear souls apart.
Why do the veiled ones blush, their faces so shy,
Adjusting their veils as the moments fly?

No one would seek the fair, were hearts not so bold,
If love were not present, a story untold.
If hearts were not present, a world left bare,
No one would seek the fair, without love to share.
Were there no gazes, the beauty would fade,
The fair would not prosper, a desolate parade.
Eyes taught them boldness, and also their grace,
Eyes made them divine, in this sacred space.
No one would seek the fair, where love cannot dwell,
If hearts were not present, a story to tell.
They endure every cruelty, to honor their face,
Some who steal glances, hidden from space.

Do not disturb those, consumed by desire,
Those with moonlit faces, ablaze with fire.
Those with moonlit faces, do not dare
Disturb those consumed by love's snare.
Tell the critics, their whispers should cease,
To stay far from beauty, and find inner peace.
If the fair are content, then honor love's plea,
If angered, they bring forth the death decree.
Do not disturb those, consumed by desire,
Those with moonlit faces, burning with fire.
These sharp, seductive eyes, like daggers so keen,
Pierce the very soul, a treacherous scene.
Why do the veiled ones blush, so coy and demure,
Adjusting their veils, forever secure?

The qawwali is good, but the real treat here is the beauty of Waheeda
Rehman. I think she looked her loveliest in this movie-- the epitome of
traditional Indian femininity.
