Lyrics of Saanj Dhali Dil Ki Lagi, Thak Chali Pukar Ke -
sanj dhali dil ki lagi, thak chali pukar ke
sanj dhali dil ki lagi, thak chali pukar ke
jid pe aa gaya hain dil ke aaj yu naa lautana
meri suno laut jao, chhod do yeh bachapana
char din ki jindagi me din hain do bahar ke
kaise kahu, kaisi ulajhano me meri jan hai
sanj dhali dil ki lagi, thak chali pukar ke
kuchh naa kar sakungi mai kisi kaa toh malal hai
dil naa tod, chahe bol do hi bol pyar ke
sanj dhali dil ki lagi, thak chali pukar ke
aa ja, aa ja, aa bhi ja
ja ja, ja ja, ja tu ja
aa ja, aa ja, ja tu ja
Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Saanj Dhali Dil Ki Lagi, Thak Chali Pukar Ke
Evening descends, the heart's fire wearied now, calling,
Come, oh come, return.
What more can I offer, already my heart's been lost,
Go, oh go, depart.
Evening descends, the heart's fire wearied now, calling,
Come, oh come, return.
What more can I offer, already my heart's been lost,
Go, oh go, depart.
The heart's stubborn now, not turning back today,
Listen to me, return, abandon this childish play.
In this life of fleeting days, blooms but a day or two,
Come, oh come, return.
What more can I offer, already my heart's been lost,
Go, oh go, depart.
How can I speak of the tangles that bind my soul?
You misunderstand, this language of love's toll.
We must spend our days in another's waiting hold,
Go, oh go, depart.
Evening descends, the heart's fire wearied now, calling,
Come, oh come, return.
What more can I offer, already my heart's been lost,
Go, oh go, depart.
Hear, listen, what my heart asks of you,
That I can do nothing, this is my pain to see through.
Do not break my heart, just speak words of love so true,
Come, oh come,
What more can I offer, already my heart's been lost,
Go, oh go, depart.
Evening descends, the heart's fire wearied now, calling,
Come, oh come, return.
Go, oh go, depart.
Come, oh come, depart.

aceji on Friday, April 30, 2010 Great song from KAALA BAZAAR, BY Shailendra and S D BURMAN team. It is actually DEV ANAND and WAHEEDA and great singers offcourse MANNADEY and playful ASHA BHONSLE.
apparaoarani on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 It is Shankar Jaikishan who requested AV Meyyappan to accept Mannadey for Rajkapoor for Chori Chori, ( Mannadey told in a TV programme ), which is turning point for Mannadey ( Till that time he was branded for typical Mannadey classical songs only ). SDBurman not availed this opprtunity.-Arani.Apparao-Hyderabad-A.P.t
suresh verma on Sunday, July 15, 2007 A playful duet in typical S. D. Burman style, well written by Shailendra
and so nicely picturised by Vijay Anand !
ashish das on Sunday, December 20, 2009 It is Asha and not Geeta Dutt. Click upon more info on the right. Asha's
voice is a bit fast paced while Geeta sings leisurely as if she has all the
time in this world. Geeta was pioneer for this style of singing. Asha
picked up her style and went further. For obvious reasons, Geeta dutt
stopped singing for Waheeda after probably Pyaasa.
Gan S on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 This is one of the most difficult duets to sing. Those days singers had to
sing together unlike now. When Mannadey stops, Asha has to start and vice
versa.
